We are waiting for the weather to hold so we can leave....spent the day packing the trailer to the hilt. The only thing missing so far is food for the refrigerator. As of this moment we will leave on Thursday....
We are in Amarillo....arrived yesterday. There is lots to do here but we are getting settled. Spend last night in the emergency room....Joe had a superficial vein thrombosis and a superficial vein phlebitis. Good news-it's not a deep vein thrombosis-he would have been hospitalized. So we have to cool it for a few days and give the antibiotic and blood thinner time to work. It seems that the fall on 12/31 caused this to happen since he was driving and not moving his leg enough for the blood to move as it needs to. You can read up on it on the internet. We had planned to go out to dinner last night...it was my birthday, but didn't get out of the hospital until 9:30 p.m. We did go to a sportsbar to watch Ohio State unfortunately lose. We are going to take short excursions from here so that Joe can keep his leg elevated, I will drive. Thank goodness I won't be pulling the trailer. We hope to head up to Kim's in Castle Rock on Friday or Saturday and will not be pulling the trailer so I can drive again. By the time we leave Kim's we hope that Joe's leg will be back to normal and we won't have too many restrictions other than stopping frequently and taking a good walk. Hope everyone had a great New Year celebration.
We did not even know he fell on New Year's eve. Gee whiz, you need to take it easy. Hope the weather is good for you as you make your way to Castle Rock!
